Happy Woman's Day DEAR MEN.

Thanks to all the fathers, brothers, husbands, sons, friends, colleagues who respect woman, her dignity, have transformed and adapted themselves to the fact that a woman is equal and many-a-times even better than her counter-parts.

In the world that we live in, it is important for the men to understand the definition of EQUALITY. They need to understand that they have no right to give freedom to women. They need to free themselves from the stinking thoughts of having a sense of pride in giving liberty to the women in their lives.

So HAPPY WOMAN's DAY to all those men who have liberated themselves from the conservative thoughts.  BANDE ACCHE HAIN.

Little women

Truly Louisa May Alcott could understand these creatures... Else how can I map a slice of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy in my two little monster angels...

The world has gone all topsy-turvy...  There is no authority with me to prioritise things my way..

It has become like the berths of a 2 AC sleeper where half of my life is on the upper berth with questions about ionospheres..  figures of speech... volleyballs..  projects...  profit and loss... greek mythology.. to the facts of ultimate truth Death...  and on the lower berth with Baby Bing..  Doras... Bhu-bhu...  a sudden bombardment of "How much I know" vocab... to Chinta-ta... to an array of buttu(Shoes...) Choice of clothes..

Then there is me who inadvertently tries to relate to each character and the each phase that I have gone through and discussed with my mother....Seeing a shade of the same in the bigger of the little women... trying to act mature and behave stupidly or act stupid and behave maturely at the same time....  and little one forcing herself to jump the gap in an instance and act her sister.... oh... how blessed I am to have an opportunity to experience it... exhausting though...

Dancing Bond

We had a blast this Ganesh Festival...
I simply loved to see my reflection in my daughter Aarya...
Dance has always been a major bonding force between us..

It was when I decided to Choreograph two songs for Aarya..
One solo and other a group dance...
I enjoyed Choreographing her.
I regained my confidence, creativity and also 'The Dance'.
I enjoyed the fights and persuasions for perfections...
Her commitment to master her steps was astonishing...
she danced so gracefully...

Her initial reluctance for group dance was tough to handle..
But it taught her being social and communicating with strangers...
It also imbibed into her the initial lessons of team spirit and importance of being a team player...
It taught her to respect and accept people with their shortcomings...

Even though she was neglected, my younger daughter Oviee, too learnt to understand rhythm and appreciate music....
Babies are keen observers and fast learners...
Till then it was just some hand movements on some nursery rhymes and popular film songs...
But now I see a change...I see her trying to co-ordinate her hands with her footsteps and dance to the tunes...
She has learnt following the dance and appreciating with applaud...

Speaking about Aarya, her dance was divine...
Her expressions were sincere and looked natural...
It was a proud moment for all of us when people praised her performance..
I remembered the fairy dance by Betsy-May(Enid blyton's character).

Frankly, I was the happiest when I danced later on stage with my old friends...
The experience was heavenly...
I was beaming with joy and tears in my eyes....
This was the very same stage where I grew up dancing...
I was nostalgic... The audience was still there happy to watch us dance....
How much I loved to see the appreciation in my husband's eyes who came running downstairs just to watch me dance...

Can someone please help me find the exact words to express my feelings...
Only if someone could capture my expressions without my knowledge right now when I'm writing this post...

I have grown-up dancing.
Dance is my stressbuster and shall always be...
To me dance is way of expression... it is a way to connect with GOD.
All praises to the Lord of Dance....

My Favorite Things

Today I want to share a song from on of my favorite movie. (I really never understand why they can't keep makiing such Movies ).
I initially thought that I shall create my own version and post it...
Would do it some time soon... Till then here is the original one... ..

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packages tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
these are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
silver white winters that melt into springs,
these are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
when I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don't feel so bad.

Mind - The confused super being

I (that is again my mind) always have had a phenomenal respect for that abstract thing called mind. The immense power that it has, to be on a sinusoidal spree all the while and sometimes creating a 'noise' with oppposite emotions at the same time, keeps me wondering. I have started making a note of all the known but freshly found emotions which I'm going through and would like to list them here...
  • Ecstasy
  • Jubiliance
  • Happiness
  • Sorrow
  • Fear
  • Boldness
  • Anger
  • Helplessness
  • Enthusiasm
  • Lethargy
  • Pride
  • Hollowness
  • Secured
  • Insecured

Surprisingly all the emotions mentioned above are in different context and I wonder how a poor being called mind has to face all these at the same time. Is it that what we call stress? I wonder!!!

With all those emotional vectors I tried to find the resultant and the resultant is that of happiness with a proud feeling of compromise thanks to the efforts taken by my inner conscience and helping the mind mellow down all the negative vectors.

This newly discovered hobby of being with my mind is fun and has brought me back to my social world of family, friends and people all around. Thanks to you my dear 'Mind'.

Happy to blog

Hello Everyone,

I wish there is a crash course or tutorial which helps in blogging.
I have gone through interviews and all of them mention only one thing - "Follow your heart and things will fall in place".

So here is how I would like to start...
Starting to blog at the best time of the year. The Christmas.
Wishing you all a 'Merry Chirtmas'.
It really was a good Chirstmas after all those lows in the year.
The surprise party for my daughter and her friends was worth the efforts.

I'm grateful to God for giving me the courage to face all the lows bravely and making me realise that I indeed love my family, especially my parents, my husband and my lovely daughter - Aarya. I had always doubted me being a capable daughter and am happy to prove myself wrong.

With this I pray to God that the year 2010 should be a peaceful year and to return back to my entire family the ability to laugh whole-heartedly.

Love,
Meghana
